Next The maximum length of each translated string through Translator API

Previous Copy translation on WP8?

Hi,

We are using Bing Translation API from the Microsoft. We have two languages ( fr-CA and fr-FR ) which we want
to translate from en-US. Currently in the translation API we can only pass the language code and not the country code for the translation. But these two are different ( fr-CA and fr-FR ) languages and should have different translation.

But in the API we can only pass fr so translation for the both the language ( fr-CA and fr- FR ) will remain same.
Bing translation API supports zh-CHS and we can pass CHS with the language code in the API.

So is there any way that we can translate using country code also using Bing Translation API?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

I'm calling Translator Web Service from local program. Thinking that there should be no upper bound onHTTP POST body, I fed in a string of length around 12000. Then exception message says:The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.

Then I did some tests and found the boundary is around 10X00. If more than this level, server would return the error above.

So is there official explanation of such error and is this really a "defined" value?

Thanks so much for your help!

Lynn

Hello,

I seem to be encountering an issue when the system boots. Whenever i install my ghrapics card driver (even when using update center) the error from the title appears. It's awkward due to the fact that it only happens when i install my main card driver ( a switchable notebook video card is present - ATI HD 5650 switchable). I contacted HP support as well but i got tired of doing the same hardware tests and wanted to know if you guys can help me out with the error.

Thank you ,

Hi,

I noticed that after upgrading my Windows Phone to 8.x, I am not able to copy the translated text with the Translator apps. Before this, I was able to depress the translated text and a copy function will appear. Now this does not seem to work anymore.

I have to send it to OneNote and from there copy it to What'sApp.

Is this a bug or am I doing it wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Previous Japanese Translation bug

I went to the Azure Marketplace website and followed all the instructions from http://wiki.memsource.com/wiki/Microsoft_Translatorand http://wordfast.fi/blog/cat-tools/2012/05/01/new-microsoft-translator-api-with-client-id-and-client-secret/ to subscribe to Microsoft Translator and obtain an API key (client ID + secret) for use in Wordfast Anywhere.

Even after several attempts I still can get Microsoft Translator to work in WFA. I've entered the clientID and Client secret in the machine translation setup in WFA but, when I test it, I receive the message: "Test Failed no response from the MT engine the provider has been disabled."

When I'm signed in on Azure Marketplace and when I click on "Data" I get a screen showing that I'm subscribed to Microsoft Translator. Yet, when I click on "My Applications" under "My Account," I get a screen saying "You do not currently have any application subscriptions;" when I click on "My Data." then Microsoft Translator is listed.

Can somebody help me in solving this problem? Thanks.

Next error 5097 word vba bookmark

Previous Microsoft Translator API Key (client ID + secret) does not work on Wordfast Anywhere

Dear support,

During testing, I found that line feed (\n) and carriage return(\r) can't be preserved after translation. \r\n works, which makes sense to me, too. Although it might sound stupid but newline (this case has to bee CRLF) is my delimiter to concatenate hundreds of entries, and split text to boost performance, and my balance is consumed quickly by the additional character... I found paying for such characters not worth it, but can't sacrifice performance either.

Just curious if there's better solution for this? This is just my personal inquiry, and there's no problem about Translator API at all. :) Thanks very much ahead.

Lynn

Instead of a rant, I have a constructive suggestion. Is there a way for the native speakers and programmers to help with the development for these languages? It's a shame that these languages are not supported, makes it unusable for many of us.

Next Pinyin support for Chinese

Previous Microsoft Translator returning error message in Deja Vu X3

The bookmarklet makes me sad because it could be so good, but still comes up short.

I was using it for a few weeks to translate Twitter since there are a few foreign language accounts I'm on. One problem it has all the time is that it usually gets the source language wrong the first time (goes English to Spanish when it should go Japanese to English). If there was a way to fix this it would be great. The JS to EN default is in the code, but it still would fail a lot until I do several tries.

The ACTUAL best was when Bing Translator was integrated INTO the Twitter aggregation webpageso I could translate only individual tweets. That was THE best. But the bookmarklet is an ok subsitute sort of.

And today it stopped working completely on Twitter.. ! What's happening out there... hello??

I tested it on another site and it still works, so... what's up?

Good luck, people!
